Familiar colours, unfamiliar vehicle: Arriva Nederland M-B Citaro O.530G 7940 at Amsterdam, June 2006.

It looks like a B-type but it's actually a Bedford: we used 946 WAE on our Evening Tour to Chester in July 2006.

The Merseyside Bus Club's Tours Programme is probably unequalled in its coverage of places of transport interest throughout Britain over the last thirty years - from the Shetlands to the Channel Islands there can't be a location of significance we haven't visited at least once in that time. More recently, with the advent of cheap flights from Liverpool Airport, we have taken advantage of the opportunity to look at the overseas scene too.

The Club marked the occasion of the 1,000th vehicle to be used on one of its Tours when former Ribble Leyland PD3 TCK847 took us round West Lancashire on the Malcolm Barrington Memorial Tour on November 18th, 2006. We try to plan our itineraries so that as many vehicles of interest as possible may be sampled by the attending members; this is a particular feature of our Tours By Public Transport which use scheduled public services throughout.

Every tour undertaken is chronicled in the next available Review and if you want to get a better idea of what goes on on one of our tours then you could do worse than download the free sample issue from the Review page; this contains reports on our day tour to the Optare works in Leeds and on the holiday tour to the Western Isles.
